Temperatures set to spike over next 12 hours as Storm Bert ushers in warm air
Storm Bert is set to bring wind and rain for North Wales over the next 24 hours but it will also have a dramatic impact on temperatures. Weather warnings are in place as snow and ice gives way to downpours and gales.
But the positive side - particularly for anyone struggling to pay their heating bills - is that the cold weather will be swept away. It will see a sudden change in temperatures in North Wales.
Gone will be freezing nights and instead temperatures are set to be unseasonably warm for a period. For example at 4am this morning in St Asaph it was just 4C but the temperature is forecast to reach 15C by 8pm this evening - a full 11c increase in a matter of hours.

It is forecast to barely dip overnight on Saturday - with 14C the lowest temperature expected, well above the seasonal average.
Sunday will also stay relatively warm with temperatures of 13C and 14C across many parts of the region. It will feel very different to recent days with the ice and snow risk removed.
As we move into next week it will be more like the seasonal norms.
The Met Office said: "Turning noticeably milder(on Saturday), resulting in a rapid melt of lying snow. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
"Mild on Sunday then temperatures returning to the seasonal average."
