It's the beginning of the New Year, and last year was a harsh year for the hospitality industry, not just in Coventry but across the UK. While we have lost some well-known restaurants in the city in 2024, others have opened and have gained high popularity instantly.

It is now a great opportunity to try restaurants in Coventry that you may not have come across or tried out yet. Coventry is home to establishments that offer various types of cuisines that cater to all tastebuds and offer good value for money.

Whether you prefer a fine dining experience, a vibrant and party vibe or a chilled and relaxing hang-out, there is something for everyone, with some old favourites and others new to the scene. We are sharing some of Coventry's restaurants to add to your list for 2025 below.

Jhoom Coventry

If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Coventry, Jhoom on Foleshill Road offers an 'unforgettable experience' for customers. The halal Indian restaurant opened in the summer of 2024 and offers everything from burgers, steaks, and curries to platters and karahis. The restaurant also serves desserts and mocktails within a sophisticated setting.

Bosses describe Jhoom as a 'collection of bespoke vibrant smokehouses' with open fire pits and grills. Meat is brought from a single farmer and butchered and aged in-house. Some dishes include Badshah Cod Handi, Jhoom Lamb Chops, Chicken Shahi Tikka, Dynamite Paneer, Mumbai Aloo Jheera, and more.

Wingz Kingz

Sports bar Wingz Kingz at Belgrade Plaza is where you can enjoy a tasty selection of chicken wings, watch live sports and enjoy a refreshing beer. The chicken wings come in various flavors and styles, including fried, grilled, boneless, and vegan. Customers can choose their sauces, including Lemon and Pepper, Prince Buffalo, Korean BBQ, Smokey BBQ, and more, and choose between small, medium, and large, which includes 15 wings.

The chain in Coventry also offers the Carolina Reaper challenge, the world's hottest pepper that is 200 times spicier than a jalapeno. The challenge involves eating 15 chicken wings coated with that sauce in ten minutes. If you manage to eat it, you get the meal for free, and your name is added to a hall of fame.

Cafe Locco

Cafe Locco on Daventry Road in Cheylesmore is the perfect place for family and friends to visit for a catch-up, coffee, lunch, brunch, dinner, desserts, and mocktails. The cafe has recently extended its opening hours to cater to the after-work crowd.

The menu is ever-changing, with new items added on an ad-hoc basis, including paneer Inferno, Chicken tikka four cheese calzone, desi breakfast, lotus biscoff brownie, tres leches cakes, the chicken deli, and more.

Jinseon Korean BBQ

Jinseon Korean BBQ is a unique dining experience that you won't find anywhere else in the city. The restaurant has the slogan 'barbeque is our business', so all the items are cooked on a live charcoal fire on your own table, which you cook yourself. You can choose from vegetables, seafood, and locally sourced meat.

This is a great spot in town for an evening after work or a weekend treat, especially if you have never tried Korean cuisine before and are willing to try a new way of dining.

Noodle Bar

Noodle Bar reopened in November 2024 at High Street in the city centre, after its former restaurant in Bull Yard closed due to the City Centre South development scheme. The restaurant specialises in authentic Oriental and Cantonese cuisine from dim sums, soups and noodles. It is famous for its Big Bowl Meal Deals (known as ABC), where customers choose a meal topping, cooking style, and either noodles or rice.

Smokin' Hot Buffet and Grill

Smokin' Hot Buffet & Grill reopened in December 2024 and replaced Umami World Kitchen on Corporation Street. The all-you-can-eat buffet experience is said to provide a 'memorable dining journey' with 'bold flavours' with dishes of 'high quality' ingredients.

The buffet includes World Grill, which includes Thai grilled fish, Gilafi seekh kebab, jerk chicken wings, Chinese and Indian food, Pizza, sushi, salad, comfort food, and desserts. The new buffet restaurant is perfect for a casual meal, celebrating with family or hosting a group event.

Ristorante Da Vinci

Ristorante Da Vinci in Earlsdon has been offering authentic Italian cuisine for customers for over 30 years. Chefs at the restaurant have created niche specials and Italian classics to ensure diners get the true taste of Italian cooking.

For example, the antipasti offers a tantalising treat, with fresh pasta made with a high level of skill. The main courses include an array of quality meat and fresh fish and shellfish selections. Dessert is also a must, with one of Da Vinci's homemade desserts, like the Tiramisu.

Entree Steakhouse

Entree Steakhouse opened in October 2024, which blends the modern steakhouse and chic restaurant into one, offering a fine-dining experience with creative dynamics, bosses say. The steakhouse offers high-quality halal meat cuts, including fillet mignon, T-bone, sirloin and tomahawk, that can be cooked to your taste. The menu also includes burgers, starters, Entree specials, mocktails and desserts.

The Vault

For those looking for a place to visit during lunch hours or an after-work hangout, The Vault is the place to visit. The new halal brunch cafe opened in October 2024 in the former Royal Bank of Scotland building. Hence, the vault was kept as the main feature, and it is now used as a kitchen premises.

The cafe offers various brunch and breakfast items, such as The Vault keeper's breakfast, golden lock muffin, heavenly scramble, treasury omlette, and more. They also serve an evening menu that includes signature pizzas, pasta, kebab rolls and ribeye fries. Dubai-inspired desserts, including the Dubai dream cake, kunafa brownies, and the Dubai kunafa chocolate bar, are also available.

DKYC

DKYC (Don't Know You Choose) in Holbrooks is a family-run cafe perfect to visit for weekend breakfasts, lunch with colleagues or with friends. All the food is cooked fresh daily and offers desi plates, breakfast plates, loaded fries, wraps, toasties, paninis, Philly cheesesteakes, burgers, desserts, and more within a vibrant and ambient setting.

The cafe also offers an evening menu that includes all-day desi and English breakfasts, bangers and mash, grilled lamb chops, and a halal Sunday roast dinner.
