A new campsite could open on the west Norfolk coast.

In an application submitted to the west Norfolk borough council plans have been revealed to convert an unused parcel of land in Beach Road, Holme-next-the-Sea, into a 25-pitch seasonal campsite.

The application includes a proposed site plan for the new campsite which sits on four hectares and would be tent-only.

Portable toilets would be installed for each camping season, plus a reception area and general store trailer will be on-site during the holiday season.

The campsite would be open each year for a period of approximately four months from the spring bank holiday at the end of May until the end of September.

The site is located around two and a half miles southwest of Hunstanton with close links to the A149 and nearby bus stops for access to nearby areas.

Popular walking trail Peddars Way is adjacent to the site and the applicants also propose to build a new footpath within the site’s eastern boundary which they claim will allow walkers a more pleasant and safer environment away from the road.
