Terrifier 3 director responds to huge box office success
Terrifier 3 director Damien Leone has responded to the huge box office success of his hit horror movie after it claimed the number one spot in the domestic charts during its opening weekend.
The Christmas slasher movie has officially claimed the top position from Joker: Folie à Deux, which made history as the worst second-weekend decline experienced for any comic book movie having fallen down the charts with an 81% drop from its opening weekend where it made $37.8 million (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Meanwhile, the Terrifier threequel has exceeded expectations, making an estimated $18.2 million at the domestic box office this weekend compared to Joker 2, which made just $7 million this weekend.

Responding to a post which announced that the movie, which sees David Howard Thornton return as Art the Clown, is the number one film in America, director Leone said he was "proud".
"Feeling proud and grateful. I got to see Terrifier 3 in a packed theater in Times Square last night and I seriously never experienced anything like it," he penned on X. "The energy of the crowd was truly something to behold."
Leone also took to Instagram to share his thoughts with fans, writing: "Can’t believe I’m about to announce that Terrifier 3 is now officially the #1 movie in the country.

"Truly a monumental achievement for us, especially considering we’re an indie, unrated film that was always deemed too niche or too violent for mainstream audiences."
He continued: "Never underestimate horror fans! I’m so honored and proud to share this moment with my cast and crew who all worked harder than you can imagine on this film. You guys are all passionate and dedicated rockstars.
"Mainly I gotta say how proud I am of my partner @pjfalcone for always believing in me and risking his neck for me… and being a damn fine actor. Love you man."
Terrifier 3 is out now in cinemas. Terrifier and Terrifier 2 are available to watch on Prime Video.
