Terrifying moment West Lothian lorry bursts into flames as hero crews tackle blaze

Emergency services raced to an incident in West Lothian during the early hours of Wednesday morning after a lorry burst into flames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue were called to the incident on Nairn Road in Livingston at 6.30am.

Two fire appliances were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze and crews left the scene around an hour later at 7.28am.

A video taken from the scene shows the lorry engulfed in flames as smoke billows into the sky.

It's understood no injuries were sustained. The cause of the blaze has not been confirmed.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.30 am on Wednesday, 29 January, to reports of a lorry on fire on Nairn Road, Livingston.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, where crews worked to extinguish the fire. Crews left the scene at 7.28 am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
