Tesco, Asda, and Co-op issues shoppers a 'do not eat' alert on products
Several UK supermarkets have been forced to recall a range of popular food items over safety fears.
The Food Standards Agency has sounded the alarm with multiple warnings in recent weeks, urging customers to return affected products for a full refund.
Concerns have arisen over certain items due to their potential to reach unsafe cooking temperatures, while others are being withdrawn due to risks of salmonella and cyanide contamination. Below is a detailed list of the products that should be taken back to stores, reports the Express.
Tesco Plant Chef 2 Meat-Free Burgers with Melting Middle

Tesco has voluntarily recalled its Tesco Plant Chef 2 Meat-Free Burgers with Melting Middle because of worries that the centre may be too hot after cooking, posing a burn hazard.
The FSA has advised: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund (no receipt required) or contact the Tesco Customer Service on 0800 505 555."
Heron's Foods Smileys Surprise Egg

Heron Foods is also pulling its Smileys Surprise Eggs off the shelves as they contain undeclared hazelnuts (nuts), which could be dangerous for those with nut allergies.

The NHS has offered guidance on food allergies, noting: "You may get symptoms straight after eating the food you're allergic to, or days later."
For minor allergy symptoms, antihistamines may suffice, whereas severe reactions could necessitate "emergency" drugs like an EpiPen.

Meanwhile, several supermarkets, including Asda and Co-op, have removed Al'Fez Natural Tahini off their shelves following the detection of salmonella in the product. It's worth noting that other Al'Fez offerings remain unaffected.
Salmonella symptoms typically include diarrhoea, fever, abdominal cramps, chills, headache, nausea, and vomiting.
Buram Cerezli Nuts in Syrup

Best before: Originally April 30, 2025 and June 30, 2025 but the recall has since been updated to include all dates
There's also a safety alert for Buram Cerezli Nuts in Syrup, distributed by Leo's Import Export and Trading Ltd, due to possible foreign objects. Furthermore, the FSA cautions that it contains apricot kernels capable of releasing hydrogen cyanide when eaten, rendering this product a health hazard.
The FSA strongly suggests: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund or to Leo's Import Export and Trading Ltd for a full refund."
