Tesco Christmas delivery slot queue chaos as customers fume 'what's the point'
Tesco customers have vented their frustration on social media after facing a battle for Christmas delivery slots, despite warnings from the retailer to sign up for delivery saver or click-and-collect plans in advanvce.
Customers with early access found themselves in a virtual queue as early as 6am, only to encounter a flawed system that left many empty-handed and angry.
One disgruntled user stated on Twitter: "How do @Tesco make such a farce out of booking a Xmas delivery slot? Been queuing since 6am. At 6:02 I logged on to Asda and had 23rd Dec slot checked out in a matter of minutes."

Another shopper expressed their exasperation, tweeting: "@Tesco Signed in just before 6am, in waiting room for 1 hour and 20 mins, get to your turn to shop, and nothing! Has now put me right back to the beginning of the queue. Whats the point in paying monthly Anytime Slots and no priority Xmas booking? ".
Adding to the chorus of disappointment, another customer shared: "Tesco I've had a delivery saver for over 13 years. For the past two years, I've been unable to get a Christmas delivery slot. It's like getting Beyonce tickets."
A further customer chimed in: "@Tesco Guess being unable to book a Christmas slot is common at the moment.", reports the Mirror.
Further complaints were about being ejected from the queue after failed payment attempts. A Tesco shopper recounted their ordeal: "I had a slot for Christmas delivery. I made four attempts at payment. But I was booted from my slot and am now at the back of the queue. Ridiculous! ".
Tesco has been swamped with early morning Christmas shoppers looking for delivery slots, with one frustrated customer tweeting: "@Tesco, I've just waited over an hour to get into priority booking for Christmas delivery slots, but when it was finally my turn, there's no Christmas booking options available to me."
Despite the uproar on social media, Tesco bosses reassured The Mirror they had not encountered any technical issues regarding the Christmas bookings this year. No specific figures were released about how many people were queuing since 6am for their delivery slots.
For the lucky ones signed up to Tesco's delivery schemes, an early peek at the Christmas delivery slots was given. However, for other customers, there will be a chance to book from next Tuesday, November 12 - kicking off at 6am.
After last year's website meltdown, which saw over 300,000 desperate shoppers in a virtual line, Tesco has this time around promised plenty more delivery slots and beefed-up service to handle the festive frenzy. This includes "thousands" of additional slots in the lead-up to the holiday and a fleet bolstered by over 60 new vans.
