Tesco customer 'disturbed' to find Ibuprofen tablets have been tampered with
A Tesco shopper was left appalled after allegedly discovering that a pack of Ibuprofen they purchased had been tampered with. The concerned customer reached out to Tesco over X, expressing their alarm: "Putting away our groceries that just arrived, and my 'brand new' box of Ibuprofen had these inside?! I'm disturbed that medicines can be tempered with in this way - and delivered to customers."
Accompanying the message was a photo showing what they said was a compromised Ibuprofen packet. This included a tablet box with two eight-tablet strips of Ibuprofen tablets, one with four tablets missing and the other with two tablets missing.
The image also contained two six-tablet strips of Paracetamol, one of which was unused while the other had five tablets missing. The customer, seeking answers, further pressed the supermarket giant: "Anyone going to get back to me about this? Aren't you concerned your medical products are being tampered with in stores?! I certainly am!"

Tesco responded to the incident to say: "This is highly unusual and I understand your concern." They requested the customer's details via direct message for follow-up. A Tesco spokesperson commented on the matter, stating: "We were sorry to hear about this and issued a refund to the customer. We have also asked the store to look into what happened."
In addition to this incident, Tesco has faced criticism over new parking restrictions at some of its locations, which limit parking between midnight and 6am to just 30 minutes. During the day, from 6am to 8pm, shoppers will still be allowed three hours of free parking.
One disgruntled customer expressed frustration with the new policy, stating: "I know to a lot of people this probably seems petty and not a big deal, but to anyone who either has kids or works hours and has to shop in the evening, or for anyone neurodivergent it's absolutely not okay." Another shopper echoed this sentiment, saying it would cause them significant inconvenience: "I also can only do the shopping on an evening. Similarly, it's two hours to myself once a week. This is a really inconsiderate thing to do."
A third individual, annoyed by the new rules, vowed to take their business elsewhere, claiming: "We used to spend £110 a week at Tesco for husband and I, costs £65 a week at Aldi. Fresher veg, fruit, salad and the British steaks are excellent. Vote with your feet people."
In response to the backlash, Tesco stated: "It is important to us that all our customers can find a space when they visit our stores."
