Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons issue warning to shoppers buying Baileys for Christmas
Sainsbury's has slashed the price of Baileys amid a heated price war between retailers ahead of the Christmas season. Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has slashed the price of its Baileys 1l bottles to £10 from £21.95, the high street supermarket has said.
The deal is available to shoppers with a Nectar Card. Nectar customers can add the card to their Sainsbury's Groceries account when they check out to access all sorts of discounts, with Tesco also cutting the price for those buying the liqueur.
A litre of the original Irish Cream is now just £10 with a Clubcard, which marks a whopping saving of £12. The deal is running until December 9, so shoppers need to be quick to snatch the tipple, the supermarket giant - which is the UK's biggest - has said.

The same bottle is now selling for £13 in Morrisons, but you'll need a More Card. More Cards can be downloaded on the My Morrisons app where hundreds more deals are available, the supermarket giant - which is rivalled by Asda - has said.
Money Saving Expert explained: "Every year as we head into the festive season, we see the 'battle of the Baileys', with many major supermarkets discounting the price of one-litre Baileys Original bottles (normally £22) by more than half of the usual price."
The group, founded by ITV and BBC star Martin Lewis, added: "We've already seen some other supermarkets discount one-litre Baileys in the last few weeks. Costco was selling bottles for £9.99 earlier this month, and Morrisons was offering bottles for £8.50 for More Card members spending £45 or more on groceries, but that deal's now ended.
"It's possible we'll see more supermarkets drop the price of a litre-bottle to £10 (perhaps even a little lower) in the lead-up to Christmas. We'll update here as new Baileys offers crop up."
