Tesco shoppers urged to act ahead of Clubcard deadline this week - how to extend your vouchers

Tesco customers are being urged to check if they have any Clubcard vouchers expiring this week - and to take swift action if so.

The vouchers are only valid for two years from the date they were issued and millions of pounds worth are set to run out on Saturday, November 30. Advice issued on MoneySavingExpert.com lets customers know what to do if they don't want to use their Clubcard vouchers yet.

If your Clubcard vouchers are due to expire and you don't want to use them yet, you may be able to extend the expiry date by another two years. The money saving website says they have a 'trick' to extend the validity of vouchers.

It is important to be aware you'll need to extend your vouchers by 11.59pm on Saturday, November 30. You can make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards page or donate to one of its partner charities. The remaining balance is credited back to your Clubcard account as points which you can then use within the next two years.

If you spend 50p using a £5 Clubcard voucher, you will get 450 points back, worth £4.50. Points can be swapped for vouchers manually or converted with your next statement. Although you'll need to do this for each individual voucher, reports Liverpool Echo.

If you're unsure when yours expire and you've still got them in paper format, you can check the date on the voucher itself. If you've lost the paper vouchers, or didn't have in the first place, you can check this information on the Tesco Clubcard site or app.

To check online, go to the Tesco Clubcard website, select 'Clubcard account' and then 'Vouchers'. You will need a Tesco.com account and must know your Clubcard number. The number can be found on Clubcards and Clubcard key fobs. You should then be able to see a table listing your available vouchers and their expiry dates. To check on the Tesco app, open it up and go to 'Clubcard' and the 'Vouchers' section.

Once you've found your vouchers, you can spend them online at Tesco using the code provided. If you plan to spend them in store, you can print your vouchers or scan the barcode available in the app at the checkout.
