A Tesco store and petrol station is set to close for several months as the petrol station is refurbished and updated. The Tesco Esso Express store in Whitchurch will close later this month, disrupting Glastonbury plans as it lies on the main road to the festival.

The shop and petrol station, on Wells Road, could be shut for several months whilst the work takes place. According to a post on social media, the whole station will close on June 29, the day which Glastonbury begins.

It is understood that staff will be sent to other nearby stores, including Axbridge, Eastville and Redfield whilst the redevelopment of the petrol station takes place. Tesco has apologised for the inconvenience of the closure.
