Tess Daly's major family U-turn with Vernon Kay revealed after fears for future
Tess Daly has revealed that she never planned to have children before meeting her husband and fellow presenter Vernon Kay.
The couple met over 20 years ago at a BBC Christmas party before falling head over heels with one another and marrying in 2003.
Before finding fame in the entertainment industry, the Strictly Come Dancing host worked in the fashion industry as a model, while Vernon was in his early days as a presenter.

Having such a hectic schedule and travelling around at the time, the 55-year-old admitted it was hard to secure a relationship let alone plan to have children.
Quizzed on whether she had always wanted to be a mum, she shared: "I had that sort of subconscious feeling that I was going to be a mum, but I wasn't one of those people who planned it.
"For me, it took meeting the right person, which was Vernon. I met him and thought, oh, suddenly, you know, I can see it.
"I can see children, it sort of felt like it hadn't felt like the right time," she added on the Spinning Plates with Sophie Ellis Bextor last year.
Tess believes her "selfish" thoughts may have been down to her living all over the world and travelling as part of her modelling career.
"It was never the right time because I was never settled in the right place with the right person," she added.
In her thirties, Tess then crossed paths with Vernon, now 50, who at the time was a presenter on Channel 4.
"Then I met him and it suddenly felt like ok this is, biologically, I think I was like 31 then.
"So my clock was probably going tick tick, you better find someone," she continued.
Tess and Vernon went on to welcome their first child together, a daughter named Phoebe in 2004, followed by Amber five years later.
Earlier this year ahead of the couple celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary, Vernon shared the secret to their long-term marriage.
Speaking on Annie Mac's Changes podcast, the BBC Radio 2 star said communication was key, regardless of how difficult the conversation might be.
"I think marriage is a roller coaster. You know, your peaks and troughs," he shared.
"And what I've learned from the whole of that is it's really difficult to talk, but it's really easy to talk. You've got to bite your lip and just go, I'm gonna say this."
Additionally, Vernon said keeping things private and precious had played an important role in their marriage.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7:05pm on BBC One.
