Tevez Jokes About Porsche Being Towed Away

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez appeared to brush off the seizure of his £100,000 Porsche by police earlier this week in his latest goal celebrations.

The Argentinian mimicked driving a car after he scored twice in his team's 5-0 Premier League triumph at home to Aston Villa.

On Thursday, his Porsche Panamera was removed by police on a routine patrol outside the Britannia Airport Hotel in Manchester.

Three years ago when Tevez was playing for City's rivals Manchester United, his Bentley Continental GT Speed was impounded in similar circumstances.

The Bentley was removed by police near to junction 6 of the M60 in February 2009 after it was found he did not have a full UK driving licence.

Tevez, 28, has now been summonsed for driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence following this week's incident.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 7.55pm on November 15 a traffic officer on patrol on Palatine Road, Didsbury, stopped a Porsche Panamera during routine inquiries.

"The officer spoke to the driver and seized the car under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

"The driver has now been summonsed for driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence."

International licence holders from non-EU countries are permitted to drive in the UK for 12 months but are then required to pass the UK driving theory and practical test.

The same rules apply even if non-EU licence holders exchange it for an EU licence.

Tevez is due to appear before Lancaster magistrates on November 26.
