Tewkesbury 'red alert' flood warning map issued as people told to move valuables off the ground
A red alert Flood Warning has been issued for the River Severn in Tewkesbury this morning (Monday, November 25). The Environment Agency has acted due to rising river levels at the Mythe Bridge in the wake of Storm Bert.
It said flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected. Agency staff are liaising with emergency services and local authorities.

Flooding is expected to affect Bredon Road, White Bear, King John’s Cottages in Tewkesbury. Lower Lode and Mill Avon Riverside property flooded. The predicted peak of 4.3m to 4.7m on the River Severn is Tuesday afternoon (November 26).
In a message to those in the affected area, the Environment Agency said: "Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers." More rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours.
Latest flooding updates at 5pm: The River Severn level at Mythe Bridge was 4.60 metres. Property flooding is possible when it goes above 4.40 metres; The River Avon level at Tewks. Upper Pound was 4.24 metres. Property flooding is possible when it goes above 4.40 metre."
A flood warning has also been issued for the River Severn at nearby Bushley, Apperley and The Leigh; Chaceley and Haw Bridge and the River Avon at Twyning.
