A woman in Texas has been accused of shooting and killing a neighbour after a bouncy castle was allegedly stolen.

Police said they received a call about shots being fired at an address in Austin at 8.10am on 1 November.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, 52-year-old James Traylor, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at about 9.11am.

A witness told police that an altercation broke out between Mr Traylor and a female neighbour over the alleged theft of a "bouncy house".

The argument ended when the woman shot him multiple times and fled the scene, according to the witness.

A suspect has been identified as Nora Lopez, a 30-year-old woman.

She turned herself in after a first-degree murder warrant was issued for her arrest.

An autopsy confirmed that Mr Traylor's death was a homicide caused by gunshot wounds.

This is Austin's 77th homicide of 2021.
