A number of evacuations, some voluntary and others mandatory, were ordered for cities in Texas as Hurricane Laura neared on Tuesday, August 25, local media reported.
This video shows a car full of pets — including a hamster, dogs, and cats — waiting to evacuate. Twitter user @Dannigirltx, who filmed the video, said she was leaving Beaumont in Jefferson County and heading to Austin to ride out the storm.
A mandatory evacuation order was issued for Jefferson County residents ahead of the Category 1 storm, according to officials.
