TfL announces the Croydon tram section that will be closed this weekend
London's tram network is set to partially close this weekend for engineering work. There will be no service between Wimbledon and Mitcham Junction on Saturday and Sunday (September 7 and 8) while maintenance is carried out on the line.
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed buses will replace trams this weekend as a result of this. Service will run as normal between Mitcham Junction and Elmers End/Beckenham and West Croydon to New Addington.
The closure coincides with Network Rail conducting engineering work in the area of Wimbledon station, which requires power to be shut off on part of the tram network.
