TfL Tube and National Rail London delays and cancellations after heavy rainfall and flooding
Transport for London (TfL) and National Rail services were hit by extensive disruption on Thursday morning following heavy rainfall overnight.
Damage to overhead wires at Stevenage caused the cancellation of services and delays continue from King’s Cross and Moorgate.
National Rail reports that an incident between Reading and Paddington is causing delays, expected to last until 11am.
Emergency services were responding to a “casualty on the track” between Reading and Maidenhead on the Elizabeth line.
In London, delays and suspensions are reported on the London Overground and the Piccadilly, Jubilee, District and Metropolitan lines.
London Fire Brigade reported overnight that it was responding to multiple flooding incidents.
King’s Cross and Moorgate
Grand Central between London King’s Cross and Bradford Interchange / Sunderland
Great Northern between Moorgate and Stevenage: and between London Kings Cross and Letchworth Garden City / Cambridge / Ely / Kings Lynn
Hull Trains between London Kings Cross and Hull / Beverley
LNER between London King’s Cross and Leeds / Harrogate / Lincoln / York / Newcastle / Edinburgh / Aberdeen
Lumo between London King’s Cross and Edinburgh
Thameslink between Horsham and Peterborough: and Brighton / London King’s Cross and Cambridge
Lines have been reopened following damage to the overhead electric wires at Stevenage but National Rail says trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised. Major disruption is expected until 11am, services running through Stevenage will be affected all day.
Euston to Watford Junction
An obstruction on the track between Watford Junction and London Euston means London Overground services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. The disruption was expected to continue until 9am.
London Overground
No service between South Acton and Richmond while TfL fixes a signal failure at Gunnersbury.
District line
No service between Turnham Green and Richmond due to a signal failure at Turnham Green.
Elizabeth line
Emergency services responded to a casualty on the tracks on the Elizabeth line. The service was suspended between Reading and Maidenhead and there were minor delays between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow.
Jubilee line
Minor delays due to a shortage of trains.
Metropolitan line
No service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge due to a signal failure at West Harrow. Severe Delays on the rest of the line following the late finish of engineering work.
