A carpenter was rescued after slipping on metal railings and being impaled through his crotch.
Arkom Ong-iam, 56, was preparing scaffolding to paint a house in Samut Prakam, central Thailand on Tuesday (March 3) morning.
But while balancing on a wall next to the driveway, he lost his footing and landed on the green iron railings below.
Arkom howled in agony as his workmates rushed to help him. The metal point had torn through the carpenter's jeans and stuck into his groin.
Footage shows the rescue team using the steel cutting machine to cut off a length of the fence to free the unfortunate carpenter.
They spent 10 minutes before they could removethe spike that Arkom was stuck on. He was thenrushed to the hospital where surgeons began removing it from his groin.
The doctor said the railing had missed his testicles and man part by only a few millimetres. Instead, it had gone up into his intestines.
One of the carpenters said that his friend was slipped while preparing to start work.
Arkom's colleague, Nattawat, said: "We were hired to paint the house and were about to start working. We had to get the scaffolding ready.
"He climbed along the wall but stepped in the wrong place. He fell down onto the railings and screamed. It was quite unpleasant for us to see.''
