A British pensioner has been fined £3,000 after defacating on an Italian airport runway minutes after leaving his Ryanair flight.
David Sharp, 68,horrified other passengers by dropping his pants on the runway of Brindisi airport and going to the toilet.
Sharp had just flown in from Manchester on a three-hour flight.
Police said he was drunk.
He was arrested at the airport but later released.
But officers later tracked him down to a bed and breakfast in nearby Lecce and fined £3,000 for committing acts contrary to public decency.
The airport’s deputy police commander said he ‘appeared to be the little worse for drink’.
Mario Marcone, deputy police commander at Brindisi airport, said: ‘We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour. There was no need to do what he did,’ reported The Sun.
‘This was a very embarrassing episode as it happened in front of around 50 passengers on the plane and airport staff,’ he added.
'This isn’t something we deal with every day.’
