The Graham Norton Show: Trickster Goddess Kate; Emilia Clarke fangirls over Matt Le Blanc

A classic sofa full last night, with new Top Gear presenter and a fellow so mellow he’s almost horizontal, Matt Le Blanc; Game of Thrones Khaleesi, Danaerys Targaryen herself, Emilia Clarke; Actors Kate Beckinsale (Underworld / ‘Pearl Harbour / Serendipity) and Dominic Cooper (The History Boys / Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter) with music from the ethereal Corrine Bailey Rae.

Think of our Kate - beautiful, charming, classy, demure. Pantomime horse and chocolatey buttocks don’t immediately spring to mind, do they?

Picture, if you will (or don’t, if of a sensitive disposition) Kate about to snuggle down for the night, noticing a chocolate by the side of the bed, and next to her, a pair of sleeping buttocks. Clearly, the obvious course of action to anyone, is to slip said chocolate in between said buttocks. Which would have been fine in the morning, if the person hadn’t been in a rush and just got dressed and gone straight to work, only noticing halfway through the day:

“Horror horror horror I’ve done this without even feeling it!”

I think Dominic Cooper was having serious second thoughts about chatting her up; he seemed pretty concerned about the welfare of her erstwhile bedfellow, even when wetting himself over the story. He asked the question we all were thinking: “Who was it? Surely it was a friend of some sort?”

“Oh yes,” says Kate. “It wasn’t someone I didn’t know …”

There was concern over the chocolate used too ..

“It wasn’t a Toblerone!”

image

“I didn’t stick it right up!”

This was after we had the major fangirling of Matt by Emilia, although to be fair, she only did what we’d all have done in the same position. “Can you ask me how I’m doing?” Obligingly, he did.

But seriously, Kate and the pantomime horse? Takes it everywhere with her in case she gets lonely. Such are the hours of fun, she couldn’t even remember why she was wearing it at a bus stop - with Michael Sheen in a rabbit suit next to her.

“You can’t do it on your own - that would be bleak!”

They were all off to have a go after the show.
