The Jump 2017: Vogue Williams and Robbie Fowler join the all-star line-up

Irish supermodel Vogue Williams and football legend Robbie Fowler have become the latest recruits to join The Jump 2017 winter sports team.

Following Channel 4’s announcement on Wednesday, Brian McFadden’s ex Vogue admitted she was “excited” to take part in the new series, which is expected to commence in Austria next year.

Taking to Twitter, she said: “Couldn’t be more excited about taking part in ‘The Jump’ with @Channel4.”

Elsewhere, Robbie has also reportedly signed up for the challenge, though he should feel right at home when he takes to the slopes, as he joins fellow sportsmen Jason Robinson and Gareth Thomas.

The rest of the cast list is beginning to fill up too, as former model Caprice Bourret and Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, who is making a reality TV comeback following his steroid addiction revelation last year, complete the snow squad line-up.

Further names will be added to the list in due course, with presenter Davina McCall recently praising the celebrity contestants as the “bravest people on television” while also teasing an “unbelievable” line-up.

Davina told The Sun: “Is it a crazy, crazy show to be part of and our contestants are just the coolest, bravest people on television. Not because we put them at any risk, but you know, it’s just being in the snow.

“Normally you’re in the snow for a week and you have a certain amount of risk, but if you’re in the snow for eight to ten weeks and you’re on the slopes every day doing these crazy events… these people are amazing.

“We’ve got an amazing line-up – an unbelievable line-up. And no, I can’t tell you, but we have quite a few people set. They’re crazy amazing people – I’m so excited.”

With a notoriously high injury rate, seven celebrities were forced to withdraw from the contest last year – including Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, who was hospitalised after suffering a serious spinal injury.

However, following a “thorough review of safety standards,” the new series will return early next year, as filming begins in Austria, over a period of six weeks, with Davina (aka the Queen of entertainment television) at the helm.

The Jump: Series 4 will air on Channel 4 in 2017.
