The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers halted a concert to check on the safety of an elderly crowd surfer who had injured his head.

The When You Were Young singer jumped down from the stage during the live show at Emirates Old Trafford stadium in Manchester on Saturday 11 June to make sure the 67-year-old, known only as Billy, was okay.

Flowers told the crowd: "Hold on a second! Crowd-surfing over 70 is not suggested my man. But I love the effort!

"Who dropped him? Is he okay? His head's bleeding a little bit. Let's just take care of him."

Billy was then lifted to safety by security guards as the audience cheered and he was treated by medical staff as he was bleeding from the back of head.

Flowers, 40, jumped down off the stage and hugged Billy who can be seen mouthing, "I'm 67!"

Flowers then told the crowd: "I said Billy what ya doin’? He told me ‘I’m enjoyin’ me self’.”

The Mr Brightside hitmakers have just finished the UK leg of their stadium tour before heading to Ireland and Europe and back to the US in August. They are due to finish in Australia in December.

Flowers' concern for the elderly fan came on the same evening Billie Eilish stopped a show in London to check on her fans' safety as the packed crowd began to overheat.

The 20-year-old singer told the crowd: "Are you all ok? People were fainting and getting pulled out. It's hot, I know.

"Take a step back, give everybody some space. If someone looks a little woozy, just tell someone."
