The Masked Dancer 2022 winner: Scissors is unmasked as 'Glee' star

The Masked Dancer 2022 has been won by Scissors - who was unmasked as Glee star Heather Morris.

The 35-year-old American actress is best known for playing ditzy cheerleader Brittany Pierce in the hit musical series.

Morris told host Joel Dommett: "I can't believe I won. Thank you!"

She added: "All those guesses just made me feel so good. Cameron Diaz at one point!"

Morris revealed she had been a dancer for Beyonce on her Single Ladies tour.

She said: "I also taught the Glee dance and that was how I got the job because the chorographer had me teach the dancers Single Ladies."

Morris revealed she had taken part because her sons are such big fans of the show.

She said: "I had the best time, this has made my heart so full.

"My kids at home, I have two boys, six and eight, we are huge Masked fans. My oldest, during the pandemic, would make masks himself... when I got the call for this, hands down, of course I'm going to do this, my kids will be in awe of me."

The final saw guest judges The Vicar of Dibley star Dawn French and comedian John Bishop join Davina McCall, Oti Mabuse and Peter Crouch standing in for Jonathan Ross.

Most of the judges had guessed Morris was Scissors by the end of the final after she dropped a lot of clues about cheerleading - linking to her character in Glee. Although several of the judges had been sure she was one of the Pussycat Dolls.

The series finale saw Pearly King unmasked as Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli and runner-up Onomatopoeia revealed to be Hollywood actor Adam Garcia.

So far the show has unmasked Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh, Bake Off's Liam Charles, TV presenter Steph McGovern, Strictly champion Stacey Dooley, former England goalkeeper David Seaman and his wife Frankie Poultney, The Choir's Gareth Malone, Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page and Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.
