Foetus, Monkey Or Even An Alien? The Mystery Of The Six-Inch Atacama Skeleton

It’s one of the most bizarre archeological finds ever.

The Atacama Skeleton was named after the desert in Chile where it was discovered in 2003 and it has been the source of wild conspiracy theories ever since.

It was discovered close to an abandoned church and its features - as well as its size - are striking.

Measuring just six inches in length, the Atacama Skeleton - or Ata, as it has since become known - has 10 ribs instead of the 12 found in humans, as well as an abnormally large and pointed head.

These unusual qualities led some to believe that Ata, that is said to be several decades old, was either a deformed human, a foetus or some sort of primate.

But it is the pointed head - typically the most recognisable feature of numerous descriptions of aliens - that led some to conclude that Ata is not from this world.

The skeleton remained in a private collection until 2009, before it was sold and, finally, was analysed by a crack team of scientists in 2012 to discover the truth behind the mystery once and for all.

So, is Ata an alien who died on Earth - or is he simply a strange example of the curiosity of the human species?

Immunologist Garry Nolan from Stanford University was the man who carried out a series of extensive DNA tests on Ata and he found, without question, that the skeleton was no extraterrestrial - in fact, he claimed that he could even tell that Ata’s mum was from the South West of America, exactly where the body was found.

His scientist colleagues, who also worked on finding out what Ata was, first and foremost wanted to discover whether the simplest explanation - that it was all one big hoax - was true or not.

Physician and Disclosure Project founder Dr Steven Greer revealed: “The CAT scan clearly shows internal chest organs - lungs and what appears to be the remains of a heart structure.

“There is absolutely no doubt that the specimen is an actual organism and that it is not a hoax of any kind.

“This fact has been confirmed by Dr. Nolan and Dr. Lachman at Stanford.”

The scientists also dismissed outright that Ata was a primate - and concluded that it is actually human.

Dr Greer added in Sirius, a documentary that investigates the skeleton: “I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a monkey.

“It is human - closer to human than chimpanzees. It lived to the age of six to eight.

“Obviously, it was breathing, it was eating, it was metabolising. It calls into question how big the thing might have been when it was born.”

So, going on the apparent proof that Ata was indeed human - what exactly is the cause of his features and extremely small height, and what happened to him to die when he was just a child?

Suggestions that Ata was suffering from an extreme form of dwarfism or progeria - which brings about extreme symptoms of ageing at an early age - can both be dismissed as there were no genetic indicators of either to suggest them.

Another explanation is that Ata was suffering the effects of long-term exposure to radiation due to a mystery event taking place in La Noria, where the remains were discovered.

Conspiracy theorists claim to have some evidence to back this up - although that evidence is mainly based on superstition.

The last remaining residents of La Noria are said to have abandoned the town in the 1950s - for no apparent reason.

The theory goes that a secret experiment was conducted on the town that involved radiation, leading Ata to be born with severe deformities.

Added to this, the town features a cemetery that is regarded as one of the scariest places in the world due to open graves, clothed bodies half buried in the ground and toppled gravestones.

In fact, it is said to be so frightening that residents in nearby villages town absolutely refuse to set foot there.

Even if all that were true, it doesn’t necessarily explain how Ata died. His body was discovered wrapped up in a white cloth with purple ribbon so someone deliberately buried him near to the church where he was discovered.

Ata was discovered to have a fracture on both his arm and skull, leading to theories that he was either murdered out of fear or that he was so tiny that he was accidentally trampled.

However, all of this is simply dismissed out of hand by UFO hunters who are convinced that Ata is an alien who crash landed on Earth - and that tests “proving” he is human are nothing more than a cover up.
