Hugh Bonneville fans said the star looked 20 again as he appeared on The One Show looking a little different.

The Downton Abbey actor went on the BBC programme via Zoom this week to discuss his new role as a volunteer COVID vaccine marshall at his local vaccination hub in West Sussex.

But viewers found themselves rather distracted by Bonneville’s appearance.

The actor was seen against a backdrop of bookshelves and his hair looked darker than usual. Many thought he also looked way younger than his 57 years.

Bonneville’s lockdown look had fans wondering whether he was using some sort of filter.

"That's some filter Hugh Bonneville has got on his Zoom," one person posted on Twitter.

"Hugh Bonneville couldn’t switch off the beautifying filter - 'I look 20, but I'm still here'," joked another.

Another person said the actor was "barely recognisable".

At least one fan thought Bonneville's children might have messed with his computer.

"I think Hugh’s kids have left the lipstick & eyebrows zoom filter on..." they suggested.

"Phew he is looking better than ever!!!! We should all go volunteering if we can look that good!" said another.

It isn’t the first time Bonneville has stunned fans with a transformation during the coronavirus pandemic.

Last summer he appeared on The One Show with a totally new hairstyle and sporting a much trimmer waistline.

Viewers were thrilled with his "glow up", and many quipped that he had started to look like other famous faces since slimming down.

“Hugh Bonneville or Bear Grylls?” asked one person.

“Is Hugh Bonneville playing Jude Law in his next role?” suggested another.
