The Spice Girls Officially Reuniting As A Trio For 20th Anniversary - But Guess What Their New Name Is?

The Spice Girls have finally given us what we want, what we really, really want by confirming their reunion to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.

Three members of the girl group – Melanie B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton – have released a video to confirm the much-anticipated news of their reunion and reveal their forthcoming plans to celebrate, as a trio called GEM.

In the clip, Scary Spice begins: “We’ve been thinking. We have the best fans in the whole entire world.”

Ginger Spice continues: “You’ve stood by us for 20 years, and we want to say a big thank you…”

With Baby Spice then adding: “We’ve had our ups and downs, but you’ve always been there.”

The trio reveal that they plan to celebrate with a mammoth party, which we’re all invited to – so, it’s time to dust off those platform boots, shimmy into your Union Jack dress and pull out your best Stop (right now) moves.

The group conclude by wishing their fans a Happy 20th Birthday, and tease that they’ll return soon with more details on their landmark anniversary plans – until then, we’ll be watching Spice World on repeat.

It was recently reported that Mel B, Geri and Emma had scheduled a one-off concert in Hyde Park for next July, with a source describing the event as the “ultimate way to launch a reunion.”

Adding: “It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year.”

For an extra dash of nostalgia, the Wannabe hitmakers have teamed up with music manager Joyce Smyth and PR guru Alan Edwards, who originally worked with them in the 90s.

Unfortunately though, Victoria Beckham and Mel C are noticeably absent from the video, after failing to commit to the gig next year – but will they have a change of heart as plans accelerate forward?
