The Traitors star Linda Rands has surprisingly backed Jake Brown to win — despite him being responsible for her banishment from the BBC One show.

Rands featured in a viral moment from series three of the contest, which airs its final tonight, as she appeared to respond to host Claudia Winkleman saying "Traitors" moments after having been secretly picked as a Traitor. Brown spotted the slip-up on day one and pushed for her banishment, earning himself the title of "the Traitor hunter" amongst the rest of the group.

But Rands cast their rivalry aside in a chat with Loose Women as she admitted she wanted to see Brown win the cash prize. He is the new bookies' favourite following a twist on Thursday night that allowed one player to find out the true identity of a player of their choice.

Rands turning her head at the word "Traitors" is one of the most memorable moments from series three, but in spite of it sparking a huge rivalry between her and Faithful Brown, the retired opera singer wants to see her old sparring partner as champion.

Asked by Loose Women who wins the pre-recorded show, she said: "No idea. I tried to find out but they wouldn't tell me. I would have loved to have won, wouldn't that be fun.

"I think I want Jake to win, weirdly I know. But he's playing such a blinder. All respect to Jake, before we went to the round table he always discussed what he was going to say, he never blindsided me."

Brown had been so pleased at eventually persuading the group to banish Rands and then hearing her reveal she was a Traitor that he threw a chair across the room.

Talking about why she wanted to do the show, Rands said: "I thought I was good at lying — obviously not.

"I'd had a couple of glasses of shiraz and I saw (the show) and thought in a Katherine Tate moment, I can do that, and filled in the form."

On being the oldest ever Traitor, she added: "It was surreal but I enjoyed it and I think, why not."

She also said that she had only told her son about being on the show: "He was the only one, he knew and I said do not tell anyone, he was sworn to secrecy. He was really good. We saw it with family the first time and they just went crazy. My sister was saying I knew it, I knew it."

Faithful Frankie Rowan-Plowden won the power of being The Seer on Thursday and in a surprise move, decided she wanted to find out Charlotte Berman's true identity.

Rowan-Plowden explained she thought Berman was a Faithful and wanted to confirm it so that they could form an alliance - but is about to be shocked by the news that Berman is actually a Traitor.

Berman had played a near-faultless game as a recruited Traitor, seeing off fellow Traitors Minah Shannon and Freddie Fraser, but could find it tricky to win after the Seer twist.

Series two Traitor Paul Gorton told Morning Live: "I called out Charlotte from the start, she's gone in there with a Welsh accent. I think Charlotte has been a Traitor since day one. Even though she's been recruited as a Traitor now, she's gone in there, she's lied about who she is, she's given a fake Welsh accent."

His co-star Jaz Singh added of Berman, who has been fooling her co-stars into thinking she is Welsh as she believes it makes her seem more trustworthy: "He's absolutely right, 100%. She's been finessing the game since she entered the castle and that's the beauty about it."

An admiring Gorton explained how Berman could still win: "She's really good. It's just tricky now because she has to sit opposite a Faithful and say I'm a Traitor. But Frankie hasn't got a lot of people on board, so if I was Charlotte I'd go into breakfast and be like oh my god, Frankie told me she was a Traitor last night."

Loose Women airs on ITV1 at 12:30pm on weekdays.
