The Voice 2016: Paloma Faith Will Quit If She Gets Abuse

The Voice UK returned to our screens last night with a bang and the new judges, Paloma Faith and Boy George, had their first taste of being scrutinized by the BBC show’s viewers.

And here’s hoping that everybody ruddy loved them because there could be some pretty major consequences if they didn’t…

Yes, Paloma has vowed that if she gets a negative reaction on social media following her stint on the talent show then she will refuse to come back for another series - eek!

The singer revealed: “I haven’t experienced this season yet so I don’t know if I will want to do next year’s series. If every day from the first show is a barrage of abuse on social media and in letter form then of course I’m not going to do it.

"Boy George and I haven’t experienced it yet so there’s a sceptical feeling. We’re happy within us but we just hope that translates into a public reaction.”

The 34-year-old star also admitted that she and Boy George are constantly asking one another, as well as fellow judges will.i.am and Ricky Hill, whether they have been entertaining enough during filming breaks.

She added to the Daily Star: “I get anxiety. I talk to George a lot and ask, ‘Oh, what did we say?’ because we both speak before we’ve thought about it.

"Sometimes he comes up to me after and says ‘What did I say? Did I say anything funny? Or did I say anything off? How did that come across?’

"My mum is scared about me doing the show because she’s protective and she’s worried. She loves me. She wants to protect me and stuff. She’s always scared of me putting my foot in it. She says, ‘You’re no good for my nerves, Paloma.’”

Well, we don’t know about you, but we reckon Paloma came across brilliantly.
