The Wanted’s Tom Parker has penned an emotional message to his wife, thanking her for helping him through his “darkest days” amid his battle with brain cancer.

The singer, 32, revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with “inoperable” stage-four glioblastoma and had begun radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Sharing a picture on Instagram of him and his wife Kelsey, their daughter Aurelia and son Bodhi, he wrote: “It’s not what we have in life but who we have in our life that matters.”

“My Family. My cheerleaders,” continued the singer.

“The darkest days have been awful and I’ll never forget them (well my short term memory might).

“The tearful days, The couldn’t get out of bed days, The days when I couldn’t face food, the days when I couldn’t even walk up the stairs.

“You were with me every step of the way - you are my biggest cheerleader.

“My pillar of strength, even when you felt like crumbling to pieces. @being_kelsey.”

Parker went on: “People say to us ‘How do you do it?’ Ill tell you how.... LOVE. Love is how you do it.

“Our love for one another has always been something out of the ordinary and it is what has got us through the darkest of days.

“Love conquers all.”

The star shared his diagnosis with fans in October 2020, shortly before he and Kelsey welcomed Bodhi.

Earlier this month he told fans he had seen a "significant reduction" in the size of his tumour.

“SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION,” he posted on Instagram.

“These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again.
