Matt Terry is the favourite to win this year’s series of The X Factor, with the hopeful winning viewers over with his good looks, great voice and huge likeability.
And it looks as though Matt has a couple of famous fans backing him too, with the singer revealing that Sam Smith has been giving him career advice.
Speaking to The Sun, Matt explained: “What are the chances? It’s just crazy. I had a bunch of questions to ask him about his career. It was pretty cool. He’s an artist I’ve listened to since he started and I think his career is just insane.
“He told me he’d heard me sing ‘I’ll Be There’, which he thought sounded good. He said to me to just keep doing what I’m doing.”
The revelation comes after Matt shared a selfie of himself with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson from the Pride of Britain Awards last week, with Matt being widely regarded as a doppelganger for the established star.
The pic sent his and Louis’ fans into complete meltdown, with many gushing over the resemblance between the two men.
Matt has also credited his X Factor success to his mentor, Nicole Scherzinger, telling BANG Showbiz last week: “Having Nicole as my mentor is crazy, she’s so hands on, I love it.
“She will give you criticism, she will praise you, she’s really cool and where she’s a singer herself she gives good advice.”
Let’s see if Matt’s support from Sam, Louis and Nicole will help him during Disco week on The X Factor this Saturday!
