There Could Be A Downton Abbey Movie Says Lesley Nicol

OH. MY. GOD. Stop everything. Just as we’re struggling to get over the end of Downton Abbey on Christmas Day, Mrs. Patmore actress Lesley Nicol has just given us hope that we haven’t seen the last of the Crawleys yet!

Lesley, who played Downton’s resident cook and our favourite busybody, says there has been talk of a movie—pointing out that show creator Julian Fellowes left the final episode open-ended.

“There might be a film, there might be, [Julian] didn’t end it so that it couldn’t happen again,” she teased on ITV’s This Morning.

Don’t tease us, Mrs. Patmore!

Pressed further by host Phillip Schofield, Lesley added, “There is definitely talk, but he’s very busy.”

She added of Julian’s busy schedule, “Who knows what else he’s got, but he’s a workaholic, he could sneak [a movie] in.”

PLEASE! We need this.

Downton Abbey ended on a ratings high after six years on Christmas Day.

6.9 million viewers tuned in for the last episode on ITV, making it the most-watched show outside of the Queen’s festive speech.

A further four million viewers have since caught up on ITV Player, bringing the total ratings to a stellar 10.9 million.

COME BACK, DOWNTON!
