Londoners are used to some bizarre sights in the morning rush hour - but this one was truly monstrous.

Trundling through Trafalgar Square like it was the most normal thing in the world, this enormous dead T-Rex was spotted on Monday morning.

The 30ft prehistoric beast was strapped to a flatbed truck and was driven past the Houses of Parliament, London Bridge and Buckingham Palace.

Thankfully, commuters fearful of a new rise of the dinosaurs can rest easy.

The dino model was being hauled across London to promote a 'T-Rex autopsy' programme being aired this weekend.

But that didn't stop commuters from being utterly baffled on Twitter.

Gareth Williams said on social media: 'What's going on in #LondonBridge ?! I've just spotted a T-Rex on my way to work!'

The two-hour 'T-Rex Autopsy' will be shown on the National Geographic Channel this Sunday at 8pm.
