These fashionable ponies are wearing custom-made matching jumpers on their holiday to the Shetland Islands

A pair of fashion-conscious ponies are having the trip of their lives in the Shetland Islands.

Rather than just wander round aimlessly, Albert and Ernie are not only getting a guided tour, they are also doing it wearing their very own, custom-made, matching jumpers.

Their owner, horse trainer Emma Massingdale, decided that she wanted to show the animals their roots.

So she organised the month-long trip around the Shetland Islands where they could meet up and play with other Shetland herds.

Wearing their Fair Isle jumpers that were specifically knitted for them, Albert and Ernie set off on their journey of a lifetime.

Oh, and they just happened to travel on the back of a tiny motor boat during their adventure.

Emma said: “We had practiced on a local lake beforehand to see what they made of it.

“The first time we tried, Albert got his front feet on the boat but left his back feet off, but they were really good by the end – Ernie had a little look but then hopped straight on.

“It’s a wildlife haven out there with dolphins and orcas, quite weird alongside the ponies.”

Albert and Ernie met up with the Shetland Pony Society while on their trip and are now fully clued up on the history of their breed.

And they have the best jumpers ever.
