Thief Takes $150k Left By Forgetful ATM Worker

A bag containing $150,000 (£96,000) is missing in New Jersey after ATM employees left it on a lawn apparently by accident.

The mishap occurred as the two got into their car outside a customer's premises in the town of Mahwah on Monday morning.

One of the staff placed the satchel of cash on a lawn to make room while moving items around in the back of the vehicle.

The two then continued their journey to the next stop until about 15 minutes later when the employee in the back of the car realised the money had been left behind.

Both employees of the ATM company have been interviewed by investigators, police said.

Surveillance video shows the cash was taken by a man in a white van, possibly a GMC Savana, who pulled up between 11:19am and 11:29am.

The footage shows the man driving to a nearby car repair shop and taking away some tyres.
