Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has admitted he doesn't know if he is ready to manage the club, insisting he still has much to learn as a coach.

The 39-year-old currently combines his work as a football pundit for Sky Sports with his role as Roberto Martinez's assistant in the Belgium national team set-up.

Henry is one of several people who have been linked with the Arsenal managerial job, with long-serving manager Wenger yet to confirm whether he will sign a contract extension at the club.

The Frenchman's current deal expires at the end of the season, and Henry - who remains Arsenal's leading goalscorer - says he has too much respect for Wenger to talk about replacing him at the Emirates Stadium just yet.

"It doesn't depend on me, there are things to be respected, it's my club of heart but I do not have any right-wings," Henry told French TV station Canal +.

"My name is quoted to succeed Wenger, I hear that. But it's hard for me to talk about it I have a lot of respect for everything the coach has done.

"Am I ready? I don't know and nobody knows, but I also need to learn my job."

He added: "I will not be a consultant all my life, but coaching is not my aim.

"I have not fixed any goal in the head, I will love it [be a coach] and I will do everything for it. But, right now, I'm in learning mode."
