Would-be thieves ram raid Dudley shop but leave empty-handed
Would-be thieves 'ram raided' a Black country store but left with nothing, police have said. Perpetrators forced their way into a shop in The Straits, Lower Gornal, in the early hours of the morning.
Despite making it into the store, they are believed to have made off empty-handed. An investigation has since been launched in the wake of the incident.
Officers are currently scouring through CCTV footage to identity suspects, West Midlands Police confirmed. Witnesses reported seeing police vehicles outside Straits News and Off Licence in the early hours of the morning.

Pictures from the scene also showed a shop front ruined, with the door and windows caved in. A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We're investigating following a ram raid at a store on The Straits, Lower Gornal, at just before 2.20am today (January 31).
"A group entered the shop but it's understood they fled empty-handed. We're reviewing CCTV and carrying out other enquiries to identify who was involved.
