This adorable dog used to be homeless and starving - but he’s making up for it now

A dog who was once desperate for food and living rough on the streets is having the time of his life with his new owners.

Gone are the days where Popeye would struggle to find a scrap to eat and in are deliciously huge meals at countless pet-friendly restaurants.

And like any human, Popeye is dressed up to the nines for his decadent meals with owner Ivy Diep, who posts pictures of his foody exploits on Instagram to his 108,000 followers.

She told Bored Panda that his life before her was not a happy one, describing him as “super skinny, heavily matted and dirty”.

After lovingly giving him a home, Ivy hit upon the idea of detailing his restaurant meals.

She said: "One of my friends, Jen, suggested that I create an Instagram account for Popeye because he was cute.

“Jen and I liked to go on what we call ‘Instagram dates’ and take pics of our food. I’d bring Popeye any time I can, and we realised he was really good around food.”

Popeye doesn’t gorge on everything but does get nibbles of anything that is safe to eat.
