When a homeless kitten got itself stuck in a revolving door, it looked like it might have been curtains for the poor thing.

The cat had got pinned between the glass door and wall of a busy Istanbul office and was slowly being strangled.

But lucky for the fluffy feline, passing doctor Halil Akyurek spotted her and performed life-saving CPR.

Rescuing the kitten from the door, he gave her cardiac massage and until she recovered.

And not just that, the 51-year-old has now adopted the cat, giving her the name ‘Mucize’, meaning miracle.

The whole episode was caught on CCTV. Footage shows the kitten trying to squeeze through a gap in the building’s entrance.

But at the same time, a businessman walks out of the building, pushing the door closed and trapping the kitten. As he leaves the cat is stuck with her neck crushed by the closing door.

Halil said: “It started having trouble breathing and floundering. I put my hand on the back of her head and properly removed it from the door.

“We started applying cardiac massage right away, and other friends from the hospital also came by.”

The video shows Halil pumping the cat’s chest before she is revived. He said he then called a vet friend who treated the poor mite.

Mucize now lives with Halil, who is a senior hospital manager – a step up from her previous home on the streets around the Özel Akgün Tem Hospital.

“She has become part of our lives,’ her new owner said. “Even this morning, she came and woke me up.

“She loves snuggling up in my lap while I’m lying on the sofa watching TV – that’s when she falls asleep.

“Mucize really misses me when I’m away at work.”
