A LOGIC puzzle, which stumps adults but can be worked out in twenty seconds by kids, has become a talking point after it went viral on Twitter this week.

The brainteaser is originally from a Chinese primary school test - and youngsters can solve it in 20 seconds or less, according to reports.

The puzzle forms part of an admissions test, determining which elementary school in Hong Kong children will attend.

It shows a picture of ‘parking spaces’. The numbers 16, 06, 68, 88 are in the boxes, but a car covers the other figure.

The answer is easy when you realise that the numbers in the picture are upside down.

So the figures displayed from left to right are REALLY 91, 90, 89, 88 – meaning that the car covers the correct answer of 87.

The reason kids can crack it but adults find it more difficult, apparently lies in the way grown ups perceive it to involve complex maths - but children think more simply.

Puzzle inventor David Bodycombe recently told The Guardian that he came up with it, basing it on a car park he saw in Portugal two decades ago.
