This Morning: Professor Green responds to Millie Mackintosh wedding dress revenge

Professor Green has responded to rumours that his ex-wife Millie Mackintosh ripped up her £4,000 wedding gown and smeared it in fake blood for a Halloween party.

Over the weekend, pictures emerged of the former Made In Chelsea star, appearing at members’ club Albert’s in West London, wearing a vintage lace dress identical to the Alice Temperley gown she wore at her wedding in September 2013.

Fast-forward to This Morning… as daytime hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby quizzed Pro Green – real name Stephen Mandelson – about his high-profile divorce.

Flashing up photos of Millie wearing the ripped up frock for the ominous occasion, the rapper incredulously asked: “Has she used her wedding dress for a blimming Halloween party?”

He continued: “No, it’s up to her what she does with it. I don’t know if she paid for it or her parents did, but not everyone gets to wear their wedding dress twice.”

Pro Green went on to talk about their breakup, admitting it had been “horrible” but insisted that he didn’t feel “bitter” about his split from Millie, who he first started dating in 2012.

He said: “If you can’t have a sense of humour…divorce is horrible, but when you come out the other side, if you marry someone and you can’t look back on it with any kindness then it was a mistake.

“If people want to make out like I’m bitter or angry…it’s like I made a mistake. When we got married, we didn’t get married to get divorced, we got married because we were young and in love.”

The Remedy rapper also set the record straight on his controversial new track, One Eye On The Door, confirming the words featured on the single are not “revenge lyrics.”

In fact, he revealed that the song – which features the questionable lyrics: “People wanna know what my life’s like/Behind closed doors what my wife’s like/It gets crazy in bed we watch a couple episodes of a boxset and then it’s night night" – was actually written while the two were still in a relationship.

He told Holly and Phil: “Millie was initially on the intro of the song, she says “You’re a -” [followed by] words we can’t say on TV.

“She text me to say “you must be happy it’s coming out after all this time”. But the song was written when we were still together. It’s not a revenge song. Revenge for what? It’s mad to me.”

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10:30am on ITV.
