Andrew Whitmore, a passenger on a September 23rd Thomas Cook flight from Cancun, Mexico, to Manchester captured a touching moment as a crew member gave an emotional speech upon landing, addressing the company's insolvency announcement.

In the video, a member of the flight crew fought back tears and was applauded by passengers as he complimented his colleagues on board for "operating in such a professional manner all the way back to the UK, getting you all back here, safe and sound."

The flight landed at 6.50 am local time, according to FlightRadar24.

Thomas Cook ceased trading on Monday morning after last-ditch talks to avert insolvency failed. The company's collapse left hundreds of thousands of travellers stranded.

The collapse followed the British government's refusal to grant the company a £250 million bailout.
