Thomas Cook's newly-painted plane spells out a rude word when the doors are opened

Now that’s a balls-up.

Thomas Cook planes have undergone a re-branding but it has not quite according to plan.

The travel giant decided to re-paint the livery on its aircraft flying tourists off to their holiday destinations.

The sleek planes were adorned with: ‘I heart Cook’s Club,’ as the company tried to make itself more appealing to Millennial travellers.

So far, so good, but unfortunately the new look had one glaring defect.

When the door of the plane opens, the letters are positioned so it looks much saucier and reads: ‘I heart Cock’s Club.’

Unsurprisingly, the internet was quick to pick up on the unfortunate wording.

The airline seems to have taken the unintended problem in good humour though and even claimed it may even have a health and safety consequence.

‘It goes without saying it is unintended, but it is one way to highlight where the emergency exit is,’ said an airline spokesman.

The re-branding was an attempt to entice younger holidaymakers to travel with the company on package holidays to destinations such as Crete and Gambia.

At least Thomas Cook knows it is not alone.

Last month it was revealed that Cathay Pacific airline could not even spell its name correctly on the side of its planes.

One aircraft was shown with a plane emblazoned with the words ‘Cathay Paciic’.
