Thousands Affected as Flooding Strikes 19 Villages in Indonesia's Aceh Province

Flooding hit 19 villages in Aceh Jaya regency on Tuesday, October 16, affecting more than 8,000 residents, Indonesian authorities said.

Teuku Irfan TB, head of Aceh Jaya regency in Aceh province, declared a state of emergency the same day.

There were no casualties reported, but flooding did paralyze traffic in the Teunom district, local media reported.

This footage, shared on October 16, shows flooded streets at Gampong Baro village in Teunom.
