Thousands of Civilians Flee Fighting in North Raqqa

Thousands of civilians have fled areas of north Raqqa affected by fighting between Islamic State and US-backed militias, according to a video shared by a pro-opposition media on April 26.

The video report says that about 1,500 civilians have fled the airstrikes and fighting between Islamic State and Syrian Democratic Forces near Kabash town.

Civilians were being accommodated in a refugee camps in Ain Issa in north Raqqa.

The first speaker in the video is identified as an SDF fighter named Ibrahim Othman. He says more than 20,000 civilians have fled to the camps from across the northern part of the province since the fourth phase of the Raqqa offensive – north of the city – launched on April 13.
