Thousands expected to attend London march against Trump this weekend

Another march opposing Donald Trump's travel ban is to take place in central London this Saturday.

More than 10,000 people have indicated they're planning to attend on the Facebook page publicising the demonstration, with another 21,000 saying they're interested in attending.

The organisers, including the Stop the War Coalition, Stand Up to Racism, the Muslim Association of Britain, the Muslim Council of Britain and CND, write: "Trump's ban on Muslims must be opposed by all who are against racism and support basic human rights. Theresa May's collusion with Trump must end."

Attendees will be gathering at the US Embassy in London's Grosvenor Square at 11am, before marching to Downing Street.

On Monday this week thousands of people took to the streets in cities across the UK, including London, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, Brighton, Newcastle, Nottingham, Liverpool and Birmingham.

The protests have been organised into an executive order signed by President Trump, dubbed a "Muslim ban", which bars citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for a period of 90 days.

It also suspends the United States' refugee system for a period of 120 days.

The London demonstration, organised by journalist and campaigner Owen Jones, saw Whitehall brought to a standstill as protesters were addressed by speakers including Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, Ed Miliband, Tim Farron and Lily Allen.

Mr Jones said on Twitter he would not be attending Saturday's demonstration due to the involvement of the Socialist Workers' Party, who he has condemned following reports in 2013 that a female member was subjected to questioning by a "kangaroo court" after alleging she had been sexually assaulted by a senior figure in the party.
