Thousands of Flags Displayed in Utah 'Healing Field' to Commemorate 9/11 Victims
Drone footage recorded on September 11 shows a field filled with thousands of flags in Sandy, Utah, in honor of the nearly 3,000 people killed during the September 11 terror attacks 22 years ago.
Footage recorded by Chris Williams shows the Sandy Healing Field flag display. According to their website, nearly 3,000 flags are posted along the Sandy City Promenade annually by a group of volunteers.
Local news reported that “Sandy’s Healing Field was the nation’s first of its kind to honor the victims of 9/11.”
The event was started by a local flag company, Colonial Flag. “This year it’s being turned over to Sandy City to continue the tradition,” local news said. Credit: Chris Williams via Storyful
