Thousands Flee to Armenia After Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh Region
At least 6,650 displaced people from the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived in Armenia, the Armenian government said at around 5 pm local time on Monday, September 25.
Thousands of ethnic Armenians have fled Nagorno-Karabakh after Azerbaijan took control of the area. The Armenian government said it will provide accommodations to refugees in need of housing.
Footage from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty shows people at an aid center in Kornidzor, Armenia, and vehicles stuck in traffic while driving to the Hakari Bridge checkpoint from the Lachin Corridor.
