Thousands Gather in Oslo After Deadly Pride Shooting Despite Police Warnings

Several thousand people gathered in Oslo’s Town Hall Square on June 27, despite police warnings to cancel the Pride event after a shooting killed two and injured at least 21 two days earlier.

Footage by Marcus Andre Eriksen shows crowds of people waving Pride flags at the event, which organizers said was planned to show solidarity following the shooting.

According to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, the event had initially been given the go-ahead by police, but that decision was reversed on Monday.
