Thousands Gather in Sarajevo to Rally Around Erdogan

Hundreds gathered in Sarajevo, Bosnia, on Sunday, May 20, to show their support for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a rally organized ahead of Turkish elections.

According to reports, this was the only rally Erdogan held outside of Turkey ahead of the June 24 presidential elections. More than 4 million Turks living abroad would be allowed to vote in the election.

The event was held in Bosnia after governments in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands said they would not allow rallies, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported. Bakir Izetbegovic, the Bosnian member of the country’s tripartite presidency, also spoke.
